The Holland Aviation windsocks are designed so that they taper from the throat to the trailing end. As a result of this, the windsock is fully extending when you are exposing it to a wind of 15 knots (is equal to 28 km/hr or 17 mph).

The HA windsock sleeves are proving to withstand wind speeds in excess of 145km/h (75 knots). The windsock fabrics have been tested for mechanical strength, UV resistance and color fastness by an independent laboratory.
